Career Talk Dario Argento
Sixteen years after he received his Career Achievement Award, we are extremely proud and delighted to welcome master director Dario Argento back to Amsterdam for an entire evening devoted to him.
Argento is best known for directing of a large number of Giallo classics – violent, hyper-stylised horror films that had their pinnacle in the seventies. Some key films from his oeuvre are L’uccello dalle piume di cristallo (1970), Profondo Rosso (1975), Suspiria (1977) and Tenebrae (1982). Argento also co-wrote Once Upon a Time in the West and produced Dawn of the Dead.
At Imagine he will speak at length about his career, followed by Cinema Egzotik with a double bill of the 4K restoration of Suspiria and Opera (1987).
This evening is presented in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura per i Paesi Bassi.
