I Am Not a Serial Killer

Teenager John is seeing a psychiatrist for his morbid fantasies. In the meantime, he also assists his mother and aunt in the morgue. But John is mainly preoccupied with a mysterious wave of murders plaguing his hometown that winter. Semi-realistic portrait of a regular American town visited by evil, works towards a finale with the highest conceivable WTF-factor.

Based on a Young Adult novel and shot on grainy 16mm, this film keeps its viewers guessing for a long time. There are indications that the killer is not just any old killer; oil traces are found at every crime scene, for example. But most of all, this is the story of John, who, in the hands of actor Max Records (Where the Wild Things Are), turns out to be an excellent example of deviant adolescence. Because the people around him react indifferently to his morbid fantasies, the tone remains light, even while the bodies are piling up. And the finale? Prepare yourself for the most insane plot twist in years...
